REGISTER YOUR INTEREST 

Course is yet to be priced, you are not committing to payment/class and will be contacted first with dates and cost.  You will have 5 days to confirm your spot.

 Developing Stoneware Glazes

This is an 8 week course will give you a basic intro/foundation to understanding stoneware glazes and testing methods for developing your own unique glazes.  This can also work for midfire and earthenware, you will need to transfer your firing temps to suit.

Starting with an exploration of  raw materials: the main ones used in glaze making in Australia and local clays using lineblends, triaxial and quadraxial blends to develop a range of glazes. 

Then we will experiment with the use of colouring oxides and stains in different types of glaze. 

You will need to read and do some research, you should know some basics before you start or commit to some extra reading along the way.

You will be required to make and bring your own test tiles, we will send you information on the specifications.

If you are unable to do so we will have some for purchase at $8 per tile, each tile will host up 35 glazes.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Studio is located at Shed 4/39 Smithton Grove, Ocean Grove

Please park on Smithton Grove as the studio parking is not availble.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Please bring a towel, apron, dust mask and journal.

Comfortable clothing,closed shoes.

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Cancellations will forfeit fee paid (classes a reliant on numbers to proceed) and if your spot can't be filled I cannot refund money paid.
