A Stitch in Time

For Ages 9 & Upwards

In this introduction to hand sewing and machine sewing, Stitch in Time Stitchers will learn with our creative facilitator Louise Dalton, a local artist, teacher and maker.

In this workshop you will get an introduction to the sewing machine, learn practical and decorative textile techniques and explore the possibilities of up-cycling. The class will help to develop planning and procedural thinking, fine motor skills, self-expression and the ability to problem solve.

Our starting project will be a Wristie-Cuff: a textiles-jewellery crossover. Stitchers can choose from a range of techniques to embellish their fashion expression item. Stitchers will be able to choose their next project; decorative bunting or a denim tote. (Some may manage all three!)

Stitchers will discover the joy of making practical and fun items that they can wear and use to express their personal style. This beginners class is an opportunity to develop basic skills that can be built on and used in a variety of sewing and textiles projects.

Cost includes all fabric, thread and notions.

Studio is located at Shed 4/39 Smithton Grove, Ocean Grove

Please park on Smithton Grove as the studio parking is not available near the studio

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Cancellations will forfeit fee paid (classes a reliant on numbers to proceed) and if your spot can't be filled I cannot refund money paid. You may have a friend that can take the spot or I may have someone waitlisted.
