Throw like a Pro! Term 3

Learn the basics on the pottery wheel from preparing clay, learning to center and finishing your piece. This is a structured 6 week course, specifically targeted at the absolute beginner. The focus for this class is skill development and gaining practice in a step by step approach. With only 8 students per class it is perfect to hone your skills and get the basics right. This class runs for 6 weeks, per class with all clay, firing and glaze is included.

For returning students your fee includes one bag of clay to start you off and $50 worth of firing, anything extra will be charged accordingly. Now that you have the basics, Kirsty will extend your current skills around making handled cups, bowls and plates, plenty to learn!

For Newbies, your fabulous facilitator for this course is Kirsty Manger of yumDESIGN Ceramics works from her home studio in Jan Juc, Victoria where she moved to in the year 2000 and began her “relationship” with clay.

Her work is made using various hand building techniques including coil building, slip casting and wheel forming.

Kirsty most enjoys “project” based pieces and commissions including public art, community art, tableware and more recently architectural ceramic tile murals, pendant lighting and basins.

$540 all inclusive plus booking fee

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

Studio is located at Shed 4/39 Smithton Grove, Ocean Grove

Please park on Smithton Grove as the studio parking is not available.

What can/can't I bring to the event?

Please bring a towel, apron, dust mask and journal..

Is my registration/ticket transferrable?

Cancellations will forfeit fee paid (classes a reliant on numbers to proceed) and if your spot can't be filled I cannot refund money paid.

Make up classes can be booked into an alternative night during the current working block, classes may not be booked for the following term.
